Nurse offerings: Some facts, shares, and insights

Don’t know about you, but I definitely have a shorter attention span these days for things I read on the internet. I can read a long book, magazine, or newspaper article– but oftentimes I will click on a blog title that looks interesting, or I think, “OK this time I’m actually going to read the whole post about the recipe, not just the recipe!,” but next thing I know, I’ve swiped or closed the window.
So when I’m inspired to share some writings with folks — particularly facts about breast cancer, and my experiences and learnings as a registered nurse working in a breast center, I get stopped by overwhelm at the thought of writing a full-length 500-1000 word essay with oodles of references. But social media posts get tiring because social media is a tiring universe! It’s too many faces, too many noises, too many personalities vying for our attention. I find it exhausting.
I will be here offering some stuff I’ve learned through supporting people with breast cancer and other breast-related issues. If you have somehow found my website during your online explorations, then perhaps it was meant to be (if there is such thing as that). If we have found each other, then I hope something I share will benefit you in some way.
Nurse offerings in the form of mini-writings coming your way — about breast cancer, the world we live in, and the worlds inside us — as we do our best to be human in this life of “ten thousand joys and ten thousand sorrows.” (That Buddha guy said some helpful stuff.)
Sending best wishes,
Siobhan
